Ingredients

  • 85 gms. Sugar
  • 450 ml water
  • 170 gms. vermicelli
  • 55 gms. Ghee
  • ½ tsp. ground Cardamoms
  • ½ tsp. Nutmeg
  • 25 gms. almonds, finely chopped

How to Make Dry Sweet Vermicelli

  • Mix the sugar and water and bring the mixture to the boil.
  • Cook the vermicelli and ghee together, on a very low heat, stirring continuously, until the vermicelli turns golden brown.
  • This usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Add the sugar syrup, cardamom and nutmeg and stir well.
  • Bring the mixture to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer gently until the water has evaporated.
  • This will usually take about 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the contents to a serving dish and garnish with almonds. Serve while hot.
